horse a project in febo’s carving space series where he uses the experience of whittling to inspire his writing

febo talks often in his shows about his relationship with his family. his father’s alzheimer’s, the courage of his mother, and the distance between his sister. this piece - carving space - was febo bridging the gap between his sister, someone he doesn’t know too well, by whittling her a horse, her favorite animal, in a medium he doesn’t know too well either. the process was captured in as a poem which he read to her at christmas when he gifted her the horse.
